What did we learn during quarantine.

It was almost 4 months ago when we all began learning about the “corona virus”. At first it was something we could not grasp.  The thought of so many people dying or so gravely ill was mind blowing.  The rapid spread of such an illness was frightening. We all needed hope.
Then the reality was setting in.  We were told we had to stay home, confined to our homes.  Only those “essential” workers were allowed to go to work, with many restrictions.  We weren’t even going to doctor appointments.  That was done by way of video. And our children were to stay home from school.
This was something we would see in a movie. Never thinking it was possible to experience this in reality. How long would this last? What would we do? Toilet paper and paper towels were no where to be found. Food items were limited.  And the list goes on.
Unbelievable!  Was this real?  We needed hope.  A hope that is real. A hope that would be there for us.  A hope that would not disappoint. People were afraid. Many did not know how they would get through such a thing. They desperately needed an everlasting hope.
There is only one way to get that hope. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. He promises us hope is real. He will never desert us or leave us helpless.  He will always come through for us.
Romans 5:1-5
“Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
This hope is ours. We persevered, endured, and came through this ordeal of a plague.  Many did lose their life. Many lost loved ones. We were not prepared for that great of a loss. But as we pushed through, hung on to faith, and clung to the promises of Jesus, we made it through this ordeal.  And the hope of Jesus strengthened us. He will never disappoint us.
My friends, I pray that you continue to persevere and rebound from this time. I pray as a family you learned more about each other. I pray you are closer than ever before to our Lord Jesus.
And I pray for those needing their broken hearts mended, that Jesus meets you in your need and helps you heal.
Until next time faithful readers, hang on to that hope.

The Peace of God

What does it mean to have the peace of God, in our minds, hearts, spirits?   That is a loaded question.  I like to think of it as being uni...
